AIRBORNE SOUND INSULATION

IMPACT INSULATION

BUILDING

LAMIX

DESCRIPTION

LAMIX is a heavy synthetic polymer-based sheet. It attenuates airborne noise and reduces surface vibration.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Reaction to fire: Euroclass Bs1d0 between 2 plasterboards.

Walls: Structure of channels and uprights independent from the original wall and with sound-absorbing material inside (glass fibre, mineral wool or textile fibre).

Ceilings: Floating structure using insulators (elastic ceiling mounts), placed according to the manufacturer and with sound-absorbing material in the air chamber.

Once the plasterboard has been screwed to the structure and all its joints have been filled, it is to be covered with the LAMIX acoustic barrier (butt joints) and without making its joints coincide with those of the first plasterboard. Once the entire surface has been covered, the second plasterboard is to be screw-mounted in a sandwich fashion (PBD+LAMIX+PBD) always with staggered joints.

When not using floating ceilings and floors, LAMIX is also recommended as a decoupling strip between the structure’s channel and supporting the plasterboard around its whole perimeter, in order to separate the new dry system from the building’s structure.

LAMIX insulation sheet is also an effective vibration and noise reducer on metal and wood sheets or inside panels, and any surface with a low mass that is easily excited and transmits noise.

It also acts to prevent an acoustic bridge when installed between metal joints, in structure supports and under support legs, etc.
